Cygnet West strengthens Retail Property Management leadership with appointment of Nick Maddox
Cygnet West is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Maddox as Head of Retail Property Management, who commenced Monday, 16 February.
Since rebranding as Cygnet West in 2021, the firm’s Retail Property Management division has grown by more than 55%. This rapid expansion has increased the scale and complexity of the portfolio, creating the need for enhanced leadership, structure and support.
Nick brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience across retail, property‑intensive and multi‑site organisations. He has a strong track record in portfolio performance, business development, governance and operational transformation. Most recently, Nick held General Manager (Retail Area Lead) VIC/WA and State Manager roles with 7‑Eleven Australia, leading large, multi‑state retail portfolios. Prior to this, he held senior leadership roles with Caltex (Ampol), managing extensive retail networks across WA, SA and the NT. Recognised for combining commercial acumen with a people‑centred leadership style, Nick is known for building high‑performing teams and translating strategy into execution.
“As our Retail Property Management division continues its strong trajectory, Nick’s appointment ensures we have the leadership depth to support the next phase of growth,” said Imran Mohiuddin, Chief Executive Officer at Cygnet West. “His experience across complex operations bring considerable value to our clients and our team. With Nick stepping in alongside Jacquee, Michelle and Tony, the division is well positioned for sustained success.”
“I’m excited to join Cygnet West at such a pivotal time,” said Nick Maddox, Head of Retail Property Management at Cygnet West. “The team has achieved impressive growth, and my immediate focus will be supporting our people, strengthening client relationships and ensuring we continue to deliver high‑quality outcomes as the portfolio evolves.”
As part of this transition, Jacquee Kelsey, who has led the division for the past two years, will work closely with Nick to ensure a smooth handover. Jacquee will continue in a senior capacity, returning to a more hands‑on management role where her experience will continue to deliver strong outcomes for clients and the business.
Adding further depth to the leadership team, Michelle Lambley will continue to provide operational strength through her extensive knowledge of the business, clients and property management more broadly. Cygnet West also confirms that Tony Davis will formally captain the DOT portfolio, leading the DOT team as the portfolio continues to grow.
Nick’s appointment provides additional structure, capacity and focus to Cygnet West’s largest and fastest‑growing division, enhancing its ability to meet client needs and manage the demands that come with rapid growth.
