Cygnet West’s (formerly known as Colliers WA) chief takes home new property leadership award

Cygnet West’s (formerly known as Colliers WA)  State Chief Executive Imran Mohiuddin has been presented with a prestigious new property award that recognises his outstanding and enduring leadership.

The WA Property Awards, presented by the Property Council of Australia and Principal Sponsor Energy-Tec, were expanded in 2021 with several new categories which recognise the depth, expertise and skill of the West Australian property industry.

“Imran has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to innovation, diversity and to delivering the best outcomes for people for more than three decades,” says Property Council WA Executive Director Sandra Brewer.

Born in Pakistan, Mr Mohiuddin studied at the University of Western Australia. He graduated in 1981 and was soon heading property management in WA for the federal government’s Department of Administrative Services.

A long career in commercial real estate began in 1987, during which time Mr Mohiuddin pioneered new approaches to property operations, engineering and technology.

Mr Mohiuddin joined Cygnet West (formerly known as Colliers WA)  in 2001 and was elected State Chief Executive in 2003. Over the course of two decades, he has doubled the agency’s headcount, trebled its footprint and added six new divisions to meet evolving client demands.

Mr Mohiuddin drove the development of asset management software platform, Core Vision, which is used in around 80 per cent of large Australian buildings. He has built relationships and laid foundations with Asian investors, playing a key role in introducing Asian capital to Perth’s market.

“Imran championed diversity and supported women in leadership long before it was industry practice. Today, a third of key management personnel at Cygnet West (formerly known as Colliers WA)  are women, which is above the industry average,” Ms Brewer adds.

“Imran leads by example, with an inspiring style and emphasis on relationships that have driven impressive business results, attracted a large pool of capital to Perth and elevated the industry’s adoption of technology.

“Imran embodies the spirit of the WA Property Leader of the Year Award, and it is our honour to present him with this inaugural acknowledgement.”

Mr Mohiuddin was presented with his award at a gala dinner at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
