Rockingham Central Unveils Vibrant Mural by Hillman Primary School Students

Cygnet West celebrated the unveiling of stunning new mural at Rockingham Central, for valued client Lester Group, on Saturday morning. 

The mural, titled ‘The Natural Beauty of Rockingham’ has been months in the making, with collaboration by renowned Perth artist Michael Phillips and Hillman Primary School students. The process began in the classroom with consultation and design workshops, asking year 5 and 6 students to draw a natural element that invokes the Rockingham lifestyle. Hillman Primary School students and the local community were invited to make their mark on the mural, by attending painting sessions on weekends.

City of Rockingham Mayor, Deb Hamblin, opened the event which welcomed the local community to learn about the mural creation process from Mr Phillips.

According to Mayor Hamblin, the mural has quickly become a centrepiece of the precinct, “It’s a beautiful addition to Rockingham Central. It not only brightens our community space but also highlights the incredible talent of our young artists and the collaborative spirit of our locals.”

To commemorate the contribution of Hillman Primary School Students, Kitchen Warehouse donated a pizza oven which was kindly accepted on behalf of Principal Alessandro De Felice.

Cygnet West was thrilled to see enthusiastic participation from retailers, who donated giveaways and vouchers for the promotional packs provided to attendees. Attendees were also treated to a variety of activities, including face painting, balloon twisting and jumbo games.
