Highly anticipated development Sydney Charles Quarter seeking retailers and hospitality operators

Leading independent commercial property agency Cygnet West, in conjunction with Town Centre Commercial, is putting out the call for retailers and hospitality operators to anchor Perth’s most anticipated new precinct, the Sydney Charles Quarter (SCQ) in West Perth.

The transformation of the 2ha former City Motors site on Newcastle Street, aiming for completion by last quarter of 2026, will establish SCQ as one of Perth’s most vibrant hubs to live, work, shop and play.

The highly anticipated development will become the gateway landmark for the city and the heart of Perth’s Pickle District. SCQ combines premium office spaces, a 120 key international hotel, and an extensive range of retail and hospitality outlets.

A variety of residential products will be delivered across the staged delivery, including the newer concept of CoLiving micro apartments, Build to Rent and BTS apartments.

Approximately 3,400 people are expected to live and work at SCQ daily upon completion, in addition to the customers that will visit the precinct.

Retail leasing opportunities range from boutique tenancies to expansive, signature spaces suitable for diverse food, beverage, wellness, retail, and service operators.

A total of 18 upcoming tenancies will range from 38 sqm to 1,453 sqm.

“SCQ has the potential to surpass the world’s finest urban renewal projects,” said Ahmad Ibrahimi, Cygnet West Director of Retail Agency.

“This groundbreaking development will fuse residential, short stay, office and retail spaces with vibrant event venues, creating a magnetic destination that draws visitors for countless reasons and delivers retailers a truly extraordinary opportunity.”

Central to the innovative precinct is ‘The Commons’, an interactive space running through the center of the development, designed for everyone to sit, dine, relax and play.

“SCQ is more than just another development – it’s filling a large gap in the inner-city landscape and bringing vibrancy back to a prime Perth location,” Town Centre Commercial Principal Tim Scott said.

“With thousands of visitors expected daily and ‘The Commons’ as a standout gathering place, businesses here will benefit from exceptional exposure and connectivity.

“As infill development gains momentum in the inner-city areas, this presents a unique opportunity to be part of the next wave of thriving retailers in the area.”

International supermarket retailer ALDI, one of SCQ’s anchor tenants, has secured the corner of Golding & Newcastle St tenancy adding their iconic brand to the mix and reinforcing SCQ’s appeal and long-term viability.

With direct freeway access, proximity to Leederville train station within Perth’s Free Transit Zone, and exceptional visibility, Sydney Charles Quarter ensures businesses are perfectly positioned for success.
